SCOUT FUN

Camping
:On an annual basis we ha
ve two Camping Trips (one in the fall and one in the spring) that we go on as an entire Pack (all Dens).  You need not be an experienced camper to enjoy the weekends.  Everyone helps each other and we especially enjoy the fun activities that take place around the campfire.

Pinewood Derby
: Every March, we conduct our annual
Pinewood Derby in which the boys build their own cars from the kit that is provided by the Pack. This is a great father and son activity which always is the highlight of the Scout season.  We award the top 3 finishers from each Den as well as recognize all the boys with an award based on the different categories (i.e. Best Design).

Trips - The Pack plans a few trips throughout the year.  Typical trips might include: Turtle Back Zoo, Maple Sugaring, Passaic County Sheriff's Office, Lakota Wolf Preserve,  New Jersey Aviation Hall of Fame, The Intrepid Museum, etc.

                                                                                                                              COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Scouting for Food: Scouting for Food is a nationwide effort by the Boy Scouts of America. Each Spring, Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews fan out across America to collect donations of food to help those in need, and current statistics reflect that 9% of people right here in New Jersey go hungry each day.  We collect donations of food in front of local Wayne stores usually at the supermarkets. All of the food we collect will again be donated to, and distributed to those in need by, the Community Food bank of New Jersey.

Support our Troops: We have taken time out during our monthly Pack meetings to collect food and other items to send over to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Last year, the Pack got readily involved and was able to obtain a nice assortment of items. The entire Pack all chipped in and helped to pack up the collected items for the troops. It is a very fun evening and we are looking forward to doing this annually.
