Blue and Gold Dinner - Webelos 2 Arrow of Light Ceremony

Posted on Jan 29 2017 - 11:26pm

Our annual Blue and Gold dinner will be on February 26th at Portobello in Oakland from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. Our Webelo 2's will be hosting the dinner and it will be a very special event with their Arrow of Light ceremony crossing over to Boy Scouts.  As in years past our main fundraiser for this event is the tricky tray and we'll be looking for each den to provide at least 4 baskets, each basket must have a minimum value of $50. We are requesting an emphasis on baskets that are scout/family friendly, but nothing wrong with a few for the adults. The baskets will be collected by the Webelos 2. Include your name and den, baskets should be covered in wrap to help in the transport. The reservation form can be found in the 'forms' section. All reservations will need to in by 2/12 with payments. Leaders and Scouts are free and for any family members it will be $35 for adults and $18 for children under 14. Reservation forms can either be mailed to Jennifer Sadowski (23 Fenner Place, Wayne, NJ 07470) or given to your den leader who will pass to Jennifer by the 12th.

November Pack Meeting - Robotics Demonstration and Food Drive

Posted on Nov 13 2016 - 1:26am

Our next Pack Meeting is this Friday, November 18 at 7pm in Father Rugell Hall. The scouts are going to be treated to an exciting robotics demonstration from the team at Maker Depot in Totowa. Robotics is a multi-disciplinary tool that is being increasingly used worldwide in educational programs to motivate, excite, and inspire children (and adults alike). Prior to the demonstration, we will live by the words of our Scout Oath "...to help other people..." by conducting our annual food drive to benefit the Wayne Interfaith Network (WIN) food bank.  Please bring to the meeting at least one donation item.  WIN is a coalition of volunteers from houses of worship and service organizations. The primary purpose of the WIN Food Pantry is to distribute non-perishable nutritious food to eligible area residents in need.  With Thanksgiving approaching, key items on their wish list include canned yams, canned corn, cans of gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce cans, and mixed nuts.  Other items they are always in need of include tomato sauce, canned fruit, peanut butter & jelly, canned meat and fish, canned chili and hearty soups, breakfast cereal, canned veggies, mac and cheese boxes, rice and rice mixes, pancake mix and syrup, condiments, coffee, paper goods, personal care products and cleaning supplies.
